The reality, whether we like it or not, is that our face defines who we are, and how we are “seen” in and perceived by this world. Although nature provides most of the foundation of what our faces look like, our health, lifestyle, and what we do to improve our facial appearance also play important roles. We take a look at how to rejuvenate your face without a facelift with Dr Raymond Goh from Valley Plastic Surgery.
Today, there are an abundance of surgical and non-surgical treatment options that are available to enhance our natural facial appearance. Dr Raymond Goh is one such expert that can guide you on options that can bring out the best with your face. As a fully qualified Australia-trained specialist Plastic Surgeon (FRACS, ASPS, ASAPS), Dr Goh performs both reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery. His experience and straightforward approach to rejuvenating and finding balance with the face produces natural, pleasing, and lasting results. Some of the procedures offered by Dr Goh other than a facelift to enhance your face are listed below.
Eyelid surgery
The eyes are usually the first thing noticed during human interaction, and where impressions are made. Blepharoplasty is the surgical term given to procedures done to the upper or lower eyelids to enhance the youthfulness and vibrancy of the eye region. Excess upper eyelid skin can be removed, whilst excess lower eyelid fat can be repositioned.
Chin and Cheek Implants
High cheek bones and cheek definition has always been a sign of youth. As we get older, our cheek bones start to shrink. Restoration of this bone loss can be achieved with a cheek implant. The chin on the other hand, plays more of a role of balancing the face. When the chin is weak, the face appears top heavy. Enhancement of the chin by bringing the bone forward (genioplasty) or with a small implant, can subtly, but effectively, improve facial balance. All scars for cheek and chin implants are placed inside the mouth.
Lip Lift
As we age, the distance between the bottom of our nose to the top of our upper lip lengthens, making us look older. As our lip lengthens, it also looks more thinned out, and the degree of teeth shown during smile reduces. This change is mostly due to gravity, but also as a result of skin laxity and changes that occur to our facial skeleton with age.
Lip lift surgery reduces the distance between the top lip and base of nose. This exposes more of the top lip, making it look bigger, as well as a bit more teeth showing when smiling, all of which results in a more youthful look.
