The essence of a healer should encompass honesty and integrity, humility and commitment to excellence. Dr Peters impressed me as a true model of a Physician, comprising of all these qualities. He consistently made me his top priority no matter the circumstance. The sensitivity, support, and understanding I received was integral to my care. Dr Peters and his team provided support and a sense of ease for me as a patient, and my family. I am more than happy with the result of a multifaceted surgery.
Having not had a need for plastic surgery before I was unsure of the process or outcome. The BCC on my neck didn’t look much but Matthew’s explanation put a new light on it. The procedure was under general anaesthetic and the dressing afterwards told that it was a fairly big event. In days, when the dressing was removed I could see the results and when stitches were removed I could see that the recovery would be quick and the result was a very good finish, much better than I expected with very little reminder of the size of the procedure. I would definitely put Matthew in charge of any further needs for surgery.
In October 2017 I had a bi-lateral mastectomy following a 3rd diagnosis of breast cancer. I had previously had radiotherapy to both breasts. I met with Dr Matthew Peters prior to my mastectomy regarding breast reconstruction. Dr Peters is not only an excellent surgeon, I have found him to be extremely approachable, informative, always available to listen and answer questions. My reconstruction journey has been bumpy, mainly because of My compromised skin quality. At present I have air expanders in and am slowly expanding, implants will be the next step. The approach and attention Dr Peters has and continues to provide is amazing and very much appreciated. Behind the scenes the staff at Valley Plastics have also been a huge help, particularly Claire (nurse). The caring attitude of this practice is first class as are the skills of Dr Peters. I feel very lucky to be in his care through this difficult time.
