Dr Shagun Aggarwal, is a Sydney-trained Specialist Plastic Surgeon who obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) after 5 years of Plastic Surgery and 1 year of General Surgery training. He is the director of Mode Plastic Surgery in Sydney, and is also appointed at two of Sydney’s premier public teaching hospital campuses including Royal Prince Alfred, Prince of Wales, and Royal Hospital for Women.
He is one of the few plastic surgeons Fellowship trained in both cosmetic surgery of the breast, body & face (which he completed in Toronto, Canada), as well as reconstructive microsurgery (which he completed at University of Pennsylvania, USA). Dr Aggarwal’s private patients can choose to be treated at a range of Sydney’s premier hospitals including Sydney Adventist Hospital, Hunters Hill Private, and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.
Dr Aggarwal has always excelled in his profession. He was awarded the John Lowenthal medal in 2010 when he completed a Master of Surgery through the University of Sydney. He was also awarded the Gordon Gordon-Taylor Medal for first place in Australia and New Zealand in the RACS Surgical Primary exams. In addition, Dr Aggarwal was awarded the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) Prize on 2 occasions for the best aesthetic essay in 2013 and 2014. He is currently the NSW coordinator of teaching for all accredited trainees in Plastic Surgery, and regularly teaches both plastic surgeons in training and medical students at both his public hospitals and the Sydney Adventist Hospital.
After completing a number of fellowships abroad (in Canada and USA) Dr Aggarwal returned to Sydney to commence his public and private practice. His main areas of interest include aesthetic surgery particularly of the breast, body and face, as well as breast reconstruction (in particular DIEP flaps or own tissue reconstruction) and skin cancer surgery.

Dr Shagun performed a skin graft on my neck to cover the skin cancer on my ear. Dr Shagun and his Team were exceptional. Professional, and empathetic, I was certainly in more then capable hands. Thank you Dr Shagun.

Under unfortunate circumstances had the privilege of being referred to a great plastic surgeon who I trusted from the beginning. I was referred by my breast surgeon and could have not been happier with the recommendation. I had mastectomy and breast reconstruction by way of Latissimus Dorsi with expander in March 2019. I have since had the expander removed and had breast augmentation. I am extremely happy with the end result and grateful to have had the expertise of a wonderful professional along with the way.
