Before commencing medical studies, Dr Friederich studied Art and Photography and has had her work exhibited in the Art Gallery of WA. It was this artistic drive that attracted her to plastic surgery. Her innate appreciation and understanding of aesthetics is invaluable in her planning and practice in plastic surgery, whether it is a minor skin cancer removal or a major cosmetic procedure.
She did her Internship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and then worked as a resident in a wide range of surgical specialties, intensive care, and anaesthesia whilst completing her Basic Surgical Training. She then worked as a registrar in General Surgery, Cardiothoracic surgery, Orthopaedic surgery, and Plastic Surgery before commencing Advanced (Specialist) training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery through the Royal College of Surgeons in 2008.
Dr Friederich trained initially in Perth, working in adult and paediatric plastic surgery for 3 years before moving to Melbourne, where she worked in the plastic surgery unit at Royal Melbourne Hospital for 6 months before a final move to Sydney, where she completed her training in plastic surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital.
Her training in Sydney included a 6 month rotation in cosmetic surgery with the Macquarie Cosmetic and plastic surgery unit, and an additional 6 months in the Hand Surgery unit at Royal North Shore Hospital.

Lisa Friederich is a phenomenal surgeon, the practice on a whole is remarkable. Lisa uses a client centred approach, she works for you and treats the individual with so much respect and compassion. I am a trans man and had been inquiring about a Double Mastectomy. From the initial email I was hooked, Loren had answered all my inquiries provided the best service. After meeting Dr Friederich at my first consultation I couldn’t have been happier, I felt listened to, I had all my questions answered, instantly I knew I could trust Lisa Friederich. I have met a lot of surgeons before Lisa including Meagan Hassel and Steve Merten with both I had left the consultation with more questions than answers, I felt talked over and disregarded. As well from a transperson point of view both the above surgeons use transpeople for profit, disregarding the actual needs of the individual. Both of them are incomparable to Dr Lisa Friederich. I had no worries at all going into to surgery. Post op I am so satisfied with the results as well as all the care Lisa as put into post op appointments to ensure we are both satisfied with the results. I can not recommend Lisa Friederich’s practice enough to everyone looking for Plastic & Reconstructive surgery.

A big ‘Thank you’. It is now week nine and I have amazing results. After a facelift,necklift, upper blepharoplasty, lateral browlift and fat injection to temples – when the bandages were removed all I had was a small bruise one side of my neck. Every day I have seen improvement and I am so pleased I decided to go ahead with the surgery. I look fresh, very natural & much younger. From my personal experience I can’t recommend highly enough this talented and caring Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon.
Dr Friederich made me feel very comfortable and from day one of meeting her I knew I had picked the right Surgeon.
I am a 35 year old woman, I have been active and extremely athletic all of my life. I have never had body issues, but then I had children. I bounced back after the 1st, but the 2nd one left me with the ‘Mummy Tummy’. I was exercising at least 4 intense, 1hr +, sessions per week and eating healthily, and I just couldn’t get rid of it – this is why it bothered me so much that I sought out some professional help.
Being 35 I thought it was prime time to get something done whilst my skin still had some youthful elasticity. I am from a nursing background, so I knew what I wanted and a bit about the procedure itself – liposuction.
I was referred to an experienced Male Plastic Surgeon – but I was NOT prepared for his consultation. As a ‘young’ woman, who obviously has issues with herself-image, this Specialist pointed out all of my flaws and more. I left feeling worse than when I walked in, and sat in the car and cried for 20mins.
But now knowing that I definitely wanted the surgery, I was lead to see Dr Lisa Friedrich. From the moment her office door opened I felt at ease. I told her what I wanted and she was so encouraging and empathetic, I knew she was the right fit for me.
3 and a 1/2hrs of surgery – I had Liposuction to my Arms, Abdomen and Flanks.
I came out of the Anaesthetic in compression garments, I was expecting to be in a lot of pain, but only ever needed a panadol here and there. I made sure I followed to post op instructions and everything seemed to go as planned.
I am now nearly 5 and a 1/2 months post op – and I feel and look AMAZING.
Due to the surgery, lots of exercise and eating well – I have lost 3cm on each arm, 9cm from my hips and a whopping 18cm from my waist! They say it takes up to 6-12 months to see the ‘end’ results, and after an exercise session, I can still feel the areas that were worked on morphing and tingling.
I wore a bikini for the 1st time in about 7 years this week, and I was so proud from where I was – loathing my body to strutting around feeling fabulous.
Thanks Lisa – I look and feel amazing, and it only encourages me to maintain a healthy and active life.
Lisa was amazing throughout both procedures I have had done with her, she makes you feel calm and comfortable the whole time and does her best efforts to make it the best procedure possible! I have a huge birthmark removed on my leg and Lisa made the scar so thin I couldn’t be happier. I will definitely be going back to Lisa for any further procedures and it is nice to feel in such safe hands with a proper plastic and reconstructive surgeon, 10/10 and would recommend to anyone seeking a real professionals work.
