Dr Felix C. Behan has a wide experience in reconstructive surgery following his surgical training and clinical attachments to the St. Georges Westminster and Royal Marsden Hospitals in London. He continued in this facility in Head and Neck Surgery at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute where his appointment in the Head and Neck service has extended over 30 years.
He was also instrumental in establishing the Melanoma Unit at the Peter Mac, which is now part of the Department of Surgical Oncology.
Concurrently he is the Head of the Plastic & Reconstructive Hand Surgery Unit at the Western Hospital where 50% of the work is Hand Surgery. With over 2500 cases totally per year. He has a team of 6 consultants in that establishment, with the clinical load spread between Western Hospital and Sunshine Campus sites.
He is in full-time public service practice.
