I had always been unhappy with the size and shape of my breasts, but being only 21 I was unsure whether breast augmentation was a good idea. I had always had small breasts (12A or 12B) though I was always curvy. No matter how good I felt going out with my friends in a new dress and my hair and makeup done, I always felt something was missing. Feeling so self-conscious about how small my breasts were, I never wore tight tops. I wore double padded bras and even in bikinis I wore extra padding. Asking around amongst my friends, breast augmentation was actually much more common than I realised (obviously these girls picked good surgeons ☺).
I spent months researching and finally decided on Dr Jake Lim from Parramatta, Sydney. His credentials and reviews were impressive. He was very professional and made me feel at ease. He was spot on with sizing, I love my new boobs!
The surgery itself is only about 2 hours and I personally woke up feeling a little stiff but the pain was bearable. I found day 4 probably to be the worst. The first few days I was tight in the chest and simple things like opening a water bottle lid and putting on deodorant was quite difficult. I was on strong painkillers so it wasn’t until I started weaning off those on day 5 that the pain started to kick in a little bit more. The hardest part of the day for me was getting out of bed as I hadn’t moved in several hours – my chest felt very tender and tight. Be prepared to be very tired of an afternoon, and after showering. The pain is bearable, it is more uncomfortable then anything.
I am now 2 weeks post-op and feeling good. I love my new boobs and am so happy I made the decision to do it.
