If you’re going to buy a new car and plan on spending a reasonable amount of money to do so, you investigate into the model and make of the car, it’s service history and several other factors which could affect its performance and your experience of owning that car. So when you are planning a plastic or cosmetic surgery procedure, Dr Damian Marucci from Kogarah in NSW says it makes even more sense to know everything you can about that procedure so you know what to expect, and indeed are prepared.
Podcasts are available for download on iTunes. You can listen to them at your leisure. There are podcasts out there on almost every topic imaginable. Most smartphones have an inbuilt podcast app which you can use to download podcasts or subscribe to a series of podcasts.
Get it Directly From the Surgeon’s Mouth – Dr Damian Marucci
Dr Marucci has responded to consumer demand to know more about the procedures they are looking to undergo. He has created several podcasts and uploaded them onto iTunes for anyone who wants to find out more about their plastic and cosmetic surgery procedure. These enable Dr Marucci to communicate with his patients and pre-emptively answer questions they may have. Some of the topics he has covered are:
- Anaesthesia and Plastic Surgery
- Breast Reconstruction with Free Flaps
- Breast Reconstruction with Implants
- Surgery Risks and Complications
- Wound Care After Skin Graft Surgery
- Wound Care After Minor Surgery
The iTunes podcasts are FREE- Dr Marucci says he wanted them to be available to anyone looking to undergo any procedure and says he knows the importance patient preparation – it makes it so much easier not just for the person undergoing the procedure, but for their support person/people, the surgeons and everyone around them. It takes away a little of the anxiety of not knowing what to expect and answers questions about the usual “do’s and don’ts” after the surgery. Dr Marucci is adding to his list of podcasts every week or so, hoping to eventually cover the full spectrum of his plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive practice.
We think this is brilliant. When patients are researching their procedure or anything associated with it on the world wide web, there is just so much information to sift through, and a lot of it can be contradictory. For a surgeon, especially one as busy and highly respected as Dr Marucci, to take the time to put these podcasts together; he gets a big thumbs up from us!
Of course, we already love Dr Marucci… check out our awesome and informative interview with him here.
