The aesthetician projects a laser light onto the area/s being targeted. The energy it releases is absorbed by the skin, heating up the tired cells, and breaking them down into so that the body metabolises them.

You should be given Vaseline or soothing ointments to help calm and heal the skin after the treatment. You should not use makeup or other products on your skin until it has fully healed.

Q. Are there any side effects?

A. Ablative lasers are more invasive, removing the top layer of your skin, and your skin will appear red after treatment. This can last up to several days and you may need time off work to recover. Less experienced practitioners may increase your risk of burns.

Non-Ablative lasers have minimal side effects but can include swelling, redness, itching, and/or lighter skin.
